Gathering: Weather Report How was your first week of the new semester? Extended Gathering: Unfinished Sentence Prompts Begin with the prompt: "I wish someone would invent…." Ask for a volunteer to finish the first sentence prompt and then circle around so that every advisee has had a chance to share their answers. Repeat with different prompts. Have students suggest prompts as well.

Gathering: Look back at your "Start of the Year" letters. What is still true, or what has changed? Letter Writing: Write an updated letter to your advisor.

STAR READING TEST INSTRUCTIONS/AGENDA **If you have anything with you besides a Chromebook and Writing Utensil, please put it away now - No cell phones or personal devices are allowed in the room during testing** DO NOW: Get out your Chromebook and close out of any tabs you have open. DO NEXT: Go to the SASD Bookmarks folder on your chromebook and click on the bookmark for STAR Testing Slant your screen down so I know you are ready for further instruction! **If students cannot find the sasd bookmarks folder, you can send them this link https://global-zone50.renaissance-go.com/welcomeportal/148061 ** WHOLE GROUP INSTRUCTIONS: One step at a time, we will log on to the STAR Portal. Advisory for Attendance 11:30 - 11:40 Walk to JMKAC 11:40 - 12:00 Report to the Theater at JMKAC for the Indie Lens Film After the film, walk back to school. If there is time left, meet in advisories and do a quick debrief about something students learned, were surprised by, or a new perspective they gained at the Indie Lens Film. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Peel the Fruit: PoLs on June 5th & 6th. To prepare, we will be running a Peel the Fruit session in each discipline on different days this week and next. Monday May 1 = ELA Friday May 5 = Seminars Tuesday May 9 = Science Wednesday May 10 = SS Thursday May 11= Math Omnikin Tournament: May 5th is Semifinals Game 2. Freshmen vs. Staff Service Day: May 12th, we will be volunteering at locations around town, and enjoying a potluck lunch as a school. Blood Drive: May 12th. Sign up to donate blood, or volunteer to help run the process. Morp: Our final school dance ("Prom" spelled backwards) is on May 20th at Paradigm from 6:00-9:00pm. Tickets available soon. Exhibitions of Learning: EoLs are coming up next month on May 23 & 25. Presentations of Learning: June 5 (full day, no school) and June 6th (half day) Last Day of School Picnic: On June 7th, we will be celebrating the end of the school year with a picnic at Kings Park.
