Description of Class: What class is this? Project Block What do we do in this class (routine)? Research chosen topic. Make choices in finding scholarly articles that align with said claims. Annotate text by summarizing, providing evidence of the author’s argument, and sharing personal understanding and next steps. What skills are we practicing in this class? Writers analyze researched information. Writers professionally share their work. Habits of Professionalism. Habits of Mind. What did you create to show skills? Extended Annotated Bibliography. In Project Block, I made a decision about a topic I am passionate about and want to explore. I spent the month of February finding articles that would align with my thinking and guide my research. To show my evidence of my learning I created an Extended Annotated Bibliography. Description of Artifact: What is the artifact? Extended Annotated Bibliography. Explain the process. Open Closed Questions. Find 10 Quality Sources / Scholarly Articles. Summarize Understandings. Publicate Findings. Areas of successes? Areas of growth? WHAT CHALLENGES DID YOU HAVE IN CREATING YOUR EXTENDED ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY? WHAT SUCCESSES DID YOU HAVE IN CREATING YOUR EXTENDED ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY? I generated a list of open and closed questions that I wanted to answer about my topic. I had to make choices about the quality of sources I found and decide which articles I wanted to use in my annotated bibliography. I needed to find a total of 10 sources. I cited my sources. Under each source is an annotation. Each annotation includes my summary, provides evidence of the author’s argument, and shares my personal understanding and next steps. To complete my extended annotated bibliography, I created an introduction. The introduction includes my summary on the research, identifying why this topic is important or innovative. During this process, I experienced the following challenges while creating my extended annotated bibliography…. (FILL IN THE BLANK). I had these challenges because…. (FILL IN THE BLANK). I had the following successes while creating my extended bibliography….. (FILL IN THE BLANK). I had these successes because…. (FILL IN THE BLANK). Description of Learning: What did you learn about your topic? YOU WILL NEED TO SHARE YOUR FINDINGS HERE! SUMMARIZE YOUR RESEARCH. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO UTILIZE YOUR INTRODUCTION FROM YOUR ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY! What did you learn about yourself– successes, challenges? SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES FROM THE LAST MONTH.
