What did we learn about some properties of water?
IN YOUR NOTEBOOK: Draw a model of the particles in a liquid including the movement. How do the particles change depending on temperature? Watch another simulation and draw the models in your notebook. Question to investigate: How does thermal energy affect the movement of water particles? I give you some materials, you figure it out. Write out your plan on a lab inquiry sheet. Get your plan checked before doing the experiment.

Task 1:
Task 2: Atoms and molecules review
Do Now: In your notebook
Please set up a CONNECT EXTEND CHALLENGE sections in your notebook.
What is our hypothesis at this point? How do those plants in the bottle get everything they need to grow? Do we have this answered? What molecule do plants make and release? How do you know? Can you think of a way to test or demonstrate this? Jot your idea in your notebook. HEADING: Plant Investigation - (Your variable here) Set up quick plant experiment to show what plants give off.
OBSERVATIONS: BEFORE: Observe your plant and draw what you see so you can compare it to the plant after some time. While we are waiting for something to happen with your plants, let's learn and refresh our knowledge of atoms and molecules. KAHOOT! Do Now: Please choose your own seat for today and get out a science notebook that you will use for this class only. Ask me if you don't have one. Science Notebooks: What makes our science notebooks useful?
This course is going to focus on climate change and scientific ideas related to climate change. Before we dive into exactly what is climate change and related questions, we are going to learn/review some basic earth science and biology that we need to be able to understand later lessons. Learning goals:
