Cyberjournal | Luck + Coincidence Today and tomorrow you will be creating a cyberjournal that encompasses all of the thinking you have completed so far in your Traveler's Journal. What can I include in my cyberjournal?
What is Addie looking for?!
How long should be cyberjournal be? COME ON NOW! WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT?! As always, Addie will be looking for quality not quantity. For many of you, this cyberjournal will be a different experience than those I have had you write in the past because it is more focused on your personal response and interactions with the book rather than an analysis paragraph. BUT that means it is much more tricky. When you start voicing your opinions and thoughts of the world, Addie wants details! You know she is a little devilish character on your shoulder saying But WHY? What do you mean? I don't understand what you mean? I need an example? What makes you say that? Give me evidence! Ok, still want a specific length? Fiiiinnnnneeeeee. Two paragraphs minimum. Professional Publication

Do Now | Silent Conversation
Today you will be put into random groups; you will not be working with your table. Each group will be given a piece of paper with a quote from The Alchemist on it. When directed, you will have silent conversations with your group members by writing directly on the paper instead of using your voices. I will prompt you on what to respond to:
Tableau Next: translate your quote fromThe Alchemist into a tableaux to share with the class as a whole. STEP 1: As a group answer, How does the quote represent the first stages of Santiago's journey? STEP 2: Decide how to best capture its imagery in a tableau. Decide what the tableau will look like by answering the following questions:
STEP 3: When your group is presenting the frozen image, each individual (whether they represent a person, object, or symbol) will be signaled by me. At that time you will speak out a phrase or sentence which gives a clue as to who or what you are in the tableau or what your character may be feeling (this is called inferencing). STEP 4: Each group will share the tableau with the class. As an audience member, be prepared to discuss:
