Animal Farm is a story of rebellion. A story of taking back what society feels is theirs. A story of idealism, justice, equality, freedom. But what is justice, equality, freedom? Who defines these ideals and who determines when these ideals are met? What happens when these ideals turn into another form of dictatorship? The animals in Animal Farm symbolically represent humans, the establishment of government, and the abuse of power that come with both. The pigs’ independent creation of Animal Farm symbolically criticizes the rise of Joseph Stalin and Communism. Construct a visual essay that breaks down elements of the story and the Russian Revolution to understand greater meanings about humanity. What does this allegory reveal about the abuses of power?
