Do Now |What is Étude?
We are building a book that is Étude. When you hear Étude, what do you think of? Put one item per sticky note. The Making of a Book | Share out sticky notes. Form connections between our ideas and establish a list of things we want in our book. Do Next | See, Think, Connect
Elements of Theme | While this class will ultimately determine the thematic elements of the yearbook, we will ask the school as a whole to submit ideas for us to choose from. Today we will break into teams in order to get the school to participate in submitting the following information:
Communication Team: Create a Google Form that allows students to submit their suggestion for the yearbook theme. As a team, determine the questions that you want each student to answer when they submit their entries—idea, quote, design, colors, art work, etc. You may also want to collect their name and grade for later credit. You need to also include a deadline for theme ideas. Artistic Talent Team: Create a Google Form that allows students to submit their artist work for potential publication in the yearbook. This work may include poetry, visual art, anime, etc. As a team, determine the questions that you want each student to answer when they submit their entries. For example, name, class, title, artist statement, etc. Public Relations Team: Town Hall is an important source of information at Étude High School. Our Publication Relations Team will be in charge of presenting information about the yearbook theme and request for student work. Construct a short presentation about the Communication Team's and Artist Talent Team's Google Forms to present at Town Hall. While you will need to write the speech and each talk at Town Hall, you will also have to interview those two team's for information about their forms. Advertising Team: Create 11x17 sized posters that advertise our request for students' ideas about yearbook themes. These posters maybe digitally or physically made. They should include lost of attention grabbing colors and images, but they should also briefly remind students of how and when to submit the Google Form so talk with the Communication Team.
