Hr 2
DO NOW: Please get out your questioning form from yesterday and take the first 5 minutes of class to fill out the back by yourself. NEXT: Sort organism cards and create a food chain on the handout: "Energy Flow and Feeding Relationships in the Pacific Northwest" Do Now: Please get out your Inquiry Lab form.
Video clip Generate 3 questions Do Now:
Hr 2 Plant Experiments 1. Set up your plant experiments if you have not already 2. Inquiry Lab Form: Set up our data tables for plant experiments. Where will you collect data? (Hint: Science Notebook). 3. Collect data if you planted on Friday. Practice for Assessment Play Quizlet Live for 20 minutes to practice your knowledge of Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration. Do the Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration Understanding check - Google Classroom _____________________ Watch a short video segment and generate questions on your questioning form. Hour 7:
Do Now: Please choose an image card that represents something you know about photosynthesis. 2 lines and share Cellular Respiration Handout
Plant picture handout: Formative assessment
Hour 2 Do Now: Choose an image card that represents a controlled experiment (think about the variables). Pairs and shares for 30 seconds. Then change pairs and share again. Brainstorm all of the things that might affect how a plant grows. Question Brainstorm - Verbal and I put on Jamboard What could we test in here? Form groups of 2-3 and write up a proposal for a plant experiment. Make a list of materials needed if they are not here. Do Now:
Navigation: What did we figure out yesterday? We have learned what photosynthesis is.
Task 1: Explore cellular respiration (handout) and tape into notebook. Get a stamp for notebook check. Summarize what we have learned from our work on photosynthesis and experimental variables and the Cellular Respiration handout. Collaborative task: Brainstorm question FOCUS: Plants need certain conditions to grow Sticky notes - Which of these questions are testable scientific questions? Group them together - Which of these questions could be slightly changed into a testable scientific question? Form groups of 2-3 to propose and idea for an investigation.
Turn in these proposals for teacher review or meet and discuss. Hour 7 Continue analyzing data on the "A Plant's Raw Materials" lab (colored graphs about oxygen bubbles). Weebly deleted my entire Agenda. I will rewrite it after class.
